The challenge: Just how does one present an extensive range of modern jewellery and allow users to design their own bracelets and necklaces? How do you make a range with over a thousand items viewable as a whole? How do you bring people to a brand that is predominantly not in the online arena and in a highly competitive retail space? And without necessarily spending millions?
The answer: Innovation. And lots of lateral thinking!

The homepage creates a visually striking entrace to the site to immediately reflect the Lovelinks by Pastiche brand.

The bead selector showcases the entire range in a visually enticing way.

The bracelet builder allows users to build their own circular bracelet in a fun and unique way.

The catalogue allows users to view and print a catalogue of the entire range, flipping the pages like a normal book.

Running competitions on the Lovelinks by Pastiche website establishes and maintains a community base behind the site while heightening brand awareness.

A page centered around the Lovelinks Concept introduces users to the brand and how it can truly reflect their personality in a new and unique way.

A page centered around Pastiche as a company introduces both end-customers and stockists to Pastiche's core values and brand.

'My Lovelist' allows users to create and maintain a list of Lovelinks and Petites products for future purchases or gift ideas. The users can contact stockists, friends or family with product selections from their Lovelist.

The Stockist Locator allows users to easily access stockist information in their area by geolocation with maps and positioning.

The Press Room allows Pastiche to have heightend brand awareness by displaying press articles featuring the Lovelinks range for consumers.

The Clinks page is the entry page for users to register with Lovelinks by Pastiche. Members receive regular updates via email, entry into the competitions, and a personalised Lovelist.

The Lovelinks Petite by Pastiche site is an alternate offering of the Lovelinks product range allowing users with a taste for smaller beads and bracelets access to a dynamic and growing product range.
At Envoy, our software engineers and graphic artists are second to none in talent and good ideas. When we started out with Pastiche's management to make the Lovelinks and Petites products available online, the products' compelling visual nature had already been proven through print media. From this starting point, we determined that the most compelling point of difference for an online approach would be to build a sense of community and spirit around the product offering. So we came up with Clinks - Club Lovelinks - and made it possible for the Clinks community members to get involved with the site and create a space for their own 'designer jewellery'. Users tell us continually that they just love it, and we can see through our analytics and feedback not only heightened brand awareness but consistent development of a great reputation in a highly competitive market.

We also thoroughly analysed the competitors' offerings - what made these competitors' sites so tiresome? They mostly allowed users to add beads to a bracelet - but the consistent shortcoming was that the bracelet was always on a straight line, like wearing a ruler on your wrist! And if you designed a piece of jewellery on these competitors' websites, albeit clumsily, why couldn't you save it and be able to update that design later?
So we set about developing a smart Flash application called String It On that allows beads to be strung on a non-linear bracelet - that is, the selected bracelet appears as it would on your wrist. We also provided the ability to store the image of a bracelet design, along with its components, so customers can come back and update it later. When finished, the customer can find their nearest stockist (using geolocation with Pastiche's stockist database and interactive maps), and email their customised bracelet to the stockist. So effective and simple, and so innovative, compelling and fun for the thousands of predominantly young users of the site.
The application is built on ASP.NET and AJAX technologies with a considerable amount of Flash. Being mindful of the product itself, we've developed a rich, scalable and dynamic application that needs no changes as lots of new products become available (the range has doubled in size since the site's implementation). We're working on Phase Two of the plan - Phase One was primarily targeted at building the Clinks community, the email campaign manager, stockist locator (with links to maps), and getting the presentation right with the bead selector and String It On bracelet designer.

Analysis of the site's usage bears out the success of this development - we have tens of thousands of visitors, and thousands of Clinks members, the number growing daily. With exciting features such as great competitions and banner ads linked with print media campaigns, we are now supporting the leading jewellery brand of this type in its target market. Our visitors feel and identify with the brand - and its reputation only improves.
